Geology

Mapping and Prospecting

Africa is blessed with natural resources. We believe in sustainable resource development for the benefit of all. As a starting point, one needs to know what is in the ground, at what concentrations and how it can be exploited.

This is where proper geological prospecting comes in - the process of identifying rock types and evaluating the occurrence and concentration of associated minerals.

Means employed include mapping, geophysics, drilling and sampling. Data are interpreted and modelled to build a resource model.

Mining and Prospecting Licences

In South Africa, the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA) recognises the State as the custodian of the country's mineral and petroleum resources, but also promotes equitable access for all citizens.

To this end, it is necessary to apply for prospecting and mining licences. The process involves drawing up a prospecting or mining plan with budgets, public participation and environmental impact assessments.

Together with a network of experienced consultants, Tsunami Resources will facilitate this process.
